leadership training
We deliver facilitation training for people aged 18-25 from refugee backgrounds who are passionate about using drama and creativity with young people and other community groups. Through our training they become confident workshop leaders.
Our trainee workshop leaders attend regular sessions, focussing on topics including creative delivery, safeguarding, collaboration, planning, behaviour management and problem solving.
Our trainee workshop leaders support all of our project delivery, first as volunteers or paid assistants, and then as paid freelance co-facilitators. Our workshop leaders deliver across our entire programme of activities, as well as on external projects, sharing their knowledge and skills with thousands of young people at workshops and events.
We sometimes invite new members to join our leadership training programme. We are keen to meet young people who have the following skills and interests:
1. Confidence, warmth and a caring personality
2. Interest in creativity and collaboration
3. Passion for making a difference in young people’s lives
4. Responsible, professional and committed

We also deliver training for other organisations who work with emerging leaders with lived experience of forced migration. Sometimes we focus on how performance skills help us when leading workshops or public speaking, and other times we focus on how to set personal and professional boundaries as a refugee community leader. We have delivered training for Coram Young Citizens, Springboard Youth Academy’s peer leaders project, Young Roots, and Protein Dance.
